Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a full-time Building Project Engineer for our Structural Business Unit. The role requires 8+ years of experience and a broad capability in structural design, analysis, and project coordination.

The successful candidate will lead design tasks, perform calculations, develop drawings, prepare cost estimates, and support project management while collaborating across disciplines. A PE license in IL/MO/AR is required, with IL PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas.
• Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred).
• Experience with structural design and detailing of water or wastewater plant structures or similar structures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager.
• Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company, client, and industry standards.
• Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.
• Develop and check cost estimates.
• Participate in the preparation of reports and studies.
• Assist in the management of projects.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines within the firm to assure successful completion of projects.
