Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. seeks a full-time Building Project Engineer in our Structural unit in St. Louis.

This role requires 8+ years of experience and a PE license in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas (STRUCTURAL license preferred). You will perform design calculations, develop drawings, and assist in project management. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or Microstation is required, along with strong communication skills and readiness to traverse job sites.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas (preferred Illinois PE).
• Experience with structural design and detailing of water or wastewater plant structures or similar structures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or Microstation; knowledge of structural design software.

Responsibilities

• Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager.
• Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company, client, and industry standards.
• Prepare and check structural construction drawings to meet firm and client requirements.
• Develop and check cost estimates.
• Assist in the management of projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in reports and studies.
