Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Structural Mechanical Engineer to serve as a domain expert in structural mechanics across SPARC, ARC, and other R&D projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior staff within the Structural Engineering Department.

The role involves developing best practices, conducting structural analyses for diverse system designs, and supporting the company’s mission to enable fusion energy.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
7+ years of professional experience with finite element analysis in product development.

Responsibilities

Serve as a domain expert in structural mechanics.
Provide technical leadership and collaborate with stakeholders across CFS.
Mentor junior staff within the Structural Engineering Department.
Assist department management in developing and adopting best practices, workflows, and overall strategy.
Conduct and review structural analysis for various system designs at CFS.
