Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Mechanical Engineer for our client in Randburg. You will lead structural analysis and design of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with SANS, AISC, and Eurocode while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical or civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA or eligible to register.
• 7+ years in structural analysis and design of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for mechanical systems using FEA and analytical tools.
• Ensure designs comply with national/international codes (SANS, AISC, Eurocode).
• Develop drawings, specifications, and calculations for structural components.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to integrate designs.
• Conduct structural integrity assessments and failure analysis on existing structures.
• Review designs and mentor junior engineers and external consultants.
• Manage project timelines and resources for structural tasks.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
• Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering and materials.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff.
