Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Structural Loads Analyst to join the Lunar Permanence team. You will develop and validate spacecraft structural loads, including launch, in-space, and landing events, using physics-based methods and FE tools.

The role requires strong fundamentals in static/dynamic analysis, multi-tool proficiency, and collaboration across engineering disciplines to ensure safe, reliable systems for lunar cargo and crew missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in prediction/validation of structural dynamics and loads.
• Solid foundation of static/dynamic structural fundamentals.
• Experience with FE modeling and physics-based analytical methods for loads development.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic problems using hand calculations, in-house tools and commercial tools.

Responsibilities

• Solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party analytical tools).
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation of ground and flight tests.
• Modeling, simulation, and verification of spacecraft launch, in-space burns, and landing events.
• Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests.
• General loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Rigid and flexible body dynamics.
