Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Structural Analyst to join the Lunar Permanence team, focusing on Blue Moon landers and related products. The role centers on solving static and dynamic structural problems and contributing to safe, reliable spaceflight as we advance access to space.

The candidate will perform FE modeling, validation, and analyses including acceleration, shock, and vibration, while collaborating across engineering disciplines to support mechanism development and system-level trade

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering.
• 5+ years of structural analysis experience in space/aerospace vehicles/structures/mechanisms.
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals.
• Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development/validation.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools).

Responsibilities

• Solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools).
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration analysis.
• Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests.
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals.
• Support configuration development and trade studies of separation mechanisms.
