Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Associate Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of large, complex structural projects in a hybrid Los Angeles setting. The role combines technical leadership with client development and team mentorship, influencing project outcomes and firm growth.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of structural engineering experience, an SE license, and a proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural engineering experience (building design focus).
• Strong background in steel and concrete structural systems.
• SE license required.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering projects.
• Experience with seismic design and California codes preferred.
• Exposure to DSA or HCAI/OSHPD projects is a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of large, complex structural projects.
• Oversee and mentor teams of engineers and BIM/modeling staff.
• Manage client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects and market sectors.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Support overall project execution including scheduling, coordination, and quality control.
