Job summary

IMEG, formerly JQ Engineering, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Dallas, TX to lead design as a project manager or lead engineer on moderate to complex projects, delivering larger, high‑complexity work with limited senior support.

You'll work with a Dallas‑area team focused on water infrastructure, heavy civil and transportation structures, providing technical direction, analysis, and design oversight while mentoring staff and engaging clients.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
• PE license required.
• 7 years minimum experience, 8 preferred in building design consulting.
• Advanced proficiency in design techniques and production of technical plans and specifications.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and training skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication, and client-relations skills.
• Travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for structural systems analysis and create detailed designs per code and IMEG standards.
• Perform site assessments and generate analyses and technical reports.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information.
• Provide in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes.
• Provide technical training and mentoring, and assist in resolving field issues with limited support from senior staff.
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to R&D and innovation efforts.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in project interviews and presentations.
