Job summary

IMEG, a 100% employee-owned design and consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Houston, TX to lead design as a project manager or lead engineer on moderate to complex projects, with oversight on larger, high-complexity work.

You’ll work with a team of engineers and consultants delivering structural systems in buildings and other structures, while mentoring and collaborating across disciplines on water infrastructure, heavy civil, and transportation projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 7 years in building design consulting; 8 preferred.
• Advanced design and analytical skills across steel, concrete, wood, masonry.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for structural systems and create detailed designs per code.
• Perform site assessments and generate technical reports.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and build relationships.
• Provide in-process design reviews and QC per IMEG standards.
• Mentor staff and assist in resolving field issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and pursue innovation.
• Prioritize safety in all engineering work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in project interviews and presentations.
