Job summary

RETTEW is seeking a mid- to senior-level Structural Engineer/Project Manager to lead transportation-focused structural projects from concept through delivery. This role blends technical design with project leadership, balancing budget, schedule, and client management responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
8–10 years of structural design experience in infrastructure/transportation.
Strong background in project management (scheduling, budgeting, coordination).
Proficiency with structural design software (PennDOT LRFD, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc.).
Knowledge of DOT, AASHTO, and state design codes and standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication with clients.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze bridges, culverts, and retaining walls; prepare calculations and reports.
Lead drawing sets, details, and specifications.
Review junior staff work for compliance with AASHTO and PennDOT.
Manage client relationships, agency reviews, and permitting.
Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Coordinate with roadway, drainage, and traffic teams.
Mentor junior engineers and designers.
Support business development and proposals.
