Job summary

RETTEW is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer / Project Manager – Transportation to lead the design and delivery of bridge and transportation-structure projects. You will stay technically engaged while taking ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships across multiple states.

The role requires a PE license and strong background in transportation structural design, with mentoring responsibilities and interaction with PennDOT, Turnpike Commission, and other agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Active PE license with ability to obtain PA licensure.
• Extensive experience in transportation structural design.
• Experience designing bridges, culverts, retaining walls, or related structures.
• Experience supporting PennDOT and/or PennDOT districts preferred.
• Projects require coordination with multidisciplinary teams and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering work for transportation projects and manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Develop and review calculations, plans, details, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic, survey, and environmental disciplines.
• Provide QA/QC oversight and mentorship to engineers and designers.
• Engage with PennDOT, Turnpike Commission, municipalities, and clients.
• Support proposals, scopes of work, and project planning.
