Job summary

WSP USA in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Transportation Facilities Group. You will lead staff on diverse design projects including rail stations, airports, and transportation hubs, working under a lead engineer with strong client interaction.

The role requires a PE license or eligibility, 5–7 years of relevant experience, and expert use of STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System, AutoCAD, and REVIT.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with a structural focus; Master’s preferred.
5–7 years of post-education experience in transportation structural design.
PE license in NY/NJ or ability to obtain NY license within 1 year.
Knowledge of IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360; experience with construction docs.
Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT; MicroStation/Open Building a plus.
Strong communication, leadership, and multi‑tasking abilities.
Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering staff on assigned tasks within projects.
Develop structural design details, drawings and specs, including calculations.
Create drawings in REVIT, AutoCAD, and related software.
Apply STAAD.Pro, RAM, SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE for designs.
Coordinate with disciplines and architects on contract documents.
Lead field inspections and participate in project reviews.
