Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a transportation Structural Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in designing transportation structures such as highway, transit, and rail bridges. Experience with inspection and rehabilitation of existing structures is a plus. The successful candidate will assist senior engineers in performing analysis, developing designs, contract drawings, and specifications for infrastructure and transportation projects. Possible locations include Roseville, Fresno, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, and Los Angeles, California. This is a full-time role, with consideration for part-time employment. Your Key Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of structural engineering for transportation structures.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and details for transportation projects.
• Design new structures and rehabilitate existing ones.
• Review shop drawings, perform calculations, coordinate with the design team, conduct site visits, respond to RFI, and oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Coordinate with clients, including public agencies and private clients, on project deliverables.
• Collaborate with other staff and departments to complete projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Registered Professional Engineer in California.
• Proficient in steel, masonry, timber, and concrete design.
• Experience with Structural Analysis software such as SAP 2000, CsiBridge, Midas, or similar.
• Strong background in bridge design calculations and plans per Caltrans standards.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards like AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, CBC.
• Experience with California High-Speed Rail projects is a plus.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, leadership, and team-building skills are essential.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• At least 10 years’ experience in bridge and infrastructure design, preferably with Caltrans.
• High-speed rail experience is preferred.

Note: The role may involve office work and fieldwork, including exposure to weather conditions.
