About Farnsworth Group

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Transportation Engineer in our Chicago, Bloomington, Lisle, Peoria, or Tinley Park, IL offices. This is an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Project Manager looking to hone management skills while making a direct impact on a growing organization!

Job Activities:
  1. Serve as project manager with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact. May have responsibilities on multiple projects.
  2. Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  3. Assist in the coordination of estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  4. Assist in the preparation of engineering agreements for projects.
  5. Provide street and highway design engineering analysis and computations.
  6. Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects.
  7. Delegate and/or supervise the work of other engineers.
  8. Participate in business development efforts, attend client meetings, and make presentations supporting the client/project manager.
Specific Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 10-15 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience.
  • IDOT or local IL project experience is required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Clients, and Administrators.
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, ORD, and Geopak preferred.

Salary Range:

$105,000 - $135,000 (determined by education, experience, skills, and internal/external equity)
