Job summary
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to lead design for transmission and distribution projects across multiple clients. You will guide the design through construction, review drawings, perform field measurements, and ensure QA/QC adherence while collaborating with other disciplines.
The position requires ABET-accredited degree, FE or EIT, and several years of structural experience; strong CAD/analysis tool skills (RISA 3D, AutoCAD, MathCAD) and excellent communication are
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 3+ years of structural engineering experience OR
- BS in Structural/related Engineering Technology with FE and 3+ years experience OR
- MS in Structural Engineering with 2+ years experience
Responsibilities
- Perform structural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for transmission and distribution projects.
- Design structural components per project manager requirements.
- Lead QA/QC for drawings and data.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
- Conduct field inspections and measurements as required.
