Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a qualified engineer to lead the design and integration of Stage 1 Tank structures for New Glenn. You will own the full design cycle from concept through release, coordinate with procurement, and support testing across multiple sites.

Strong CAD/FEA skills and hands-on production experience are required, with travel to facilities in Florida up to 20% of the year. Minimum qualifications include a B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical, structural, or relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, stress/strain, statics, and FEA.
• Experience with large primary or secondary structures.
• Experience with material selection and metallic manufacturing techniques.
• Familiarity with tolerance, GD&T and design for manufacturability.
• Strong mechanical design and integration using 3D CAD software.
• Strong PDM skills (e.g. Windchill, TeamCenter).
• Hands-on experience on production floor or in service.
• Ability to travel 0%-20% to FL.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering scope to close including planning, detailed design, release, procurement, and test.
• Own the entire design cycle of structure components from concept to release.
• Develop, release, and maintain CAD and drawing definition package.
• Support procurement to meet vehicle build schedules.
• Support testing objectives, data review and reporting.
• Perform or facilitate emergent analyses for non-conformances.
• Participate in subsystem testing planning, execution, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams across sites (design, analysis, materials, processes, structures, fluids, systems, procurement, manufacturing).
