Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the engineering scope for the New Glenn project, focusing on a full design cycle and supporting procurement activities. The ideal candidate holds a B.S. degree in engineering with 3-5+ years of experience and must possess strong CAD skills and a solid foundation in the mechanics of materials.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in professional engineering experience.
• Experience with large primary or secondary structures.
• Familiarity with tolerance, GD&T and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering scope including planning, design, analysis, and test.
• Ownership of the entire design cycle for structure components.
• Support procurement activities and integrated test objectives.

Skills

Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials

Mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software

Product data management (PDM) skills

Hands-on experience with hardware

Education

B.S. degree or higher in mechanical, structural, or other relevant engineering field

Tools

3D CAD software

FEA analysis codes (Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct)
