Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States seeks a seasoned structural leader to drive design, analysis, and production support for the New Glenn vehicle upper stage. You will own detailed analyses and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure successful hardware integration, applying strength methods and established processes.

This hands-on role requires aligning design, analysis, and production across multi‑functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering on safety, quality, and cost

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering with 7+ years of related experience.
• Experience with launch vehicles and structural design of metallic components and assemblies; load path.
• Expertise in structural analysis using hand calculations and FEM techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze primary and secondary structures for a launch vehicle upper stage.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with subsystem teams.
• Provide on-site manufacturing and production support, including travel as needed.
• Ensure production quality and disposition hardware nonconformances as they arise.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Perform analysis reviews for designers and junior analysts in stress, stability, and fracture analyses.
• Work with cross-functional teams on materials, processes, and suppliers for aerospace hardware.
• Develop and improve enterprise analysis capabilities, including process automation tools for model creation and strength checks.
• Maintain and report activity schedule, budget, and technical status.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and identify cost-improvement opportunities.
