Job summary

DLR Group in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design of structural systems from schematics through construction administration for diverse building projects. The successful candidate will develop structural designs and calculations, act as SEOR, and coordinate with architecture and MEP within our integrated design process.

The role requires a PE/SE, 10+ years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Florida.
10+ years of experience in new and existing buildings structural engineering.
Proficiency with current structural software ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction for new and existing building types.
Prepare engineering design calculations and structural system layouts.
Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
Act as a Structural Engineer-Of-Record (SEOR).
Coordinate structural design with architecture, MEP and other disciplines.
Write and review specifications.
Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
Conduct site visits when needed.
Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.
