Job summary

DLR Group in Seattle is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our integrated design team. You will participate in the design of structural Building systems from schematics through construction administration, delivering drawings and calculations that elevate the human experience through design.

Ideal candidates have a PE/SE, 5+ years of experience with concrete, steel, masonry and wood, and a collaborative, detail-oriented approach to working with architects and clients across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of building-related structural engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
• Working knowledge of ETABS and RISA.
• Goal oriented with strong problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural solutions from concept through construction.
• Develop layouts, narratives, calculations and reports.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients.
• Learn and adapt to building codes across the US.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and participate in OA/C meetings.
• Mentor entry-level staff.
• Promote workflow and standards across multiple offices.
