Qualifications

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
• Responsible for the overall design and analysis of safety and non-safety related structures for nuclear and commercial projects.
• Interfaces with other disciplines for structural design and layouts with significant project impact.
• Applies knowledge of codes, standards, and regulatory guidance to ensure design compliance.
• Performs advanced engineering calculations, including foundation and structural analyses and FEAs.
• Generates and reviews civil layouts, foundation details, steelwork, and architectural features.
• Specializes in design documents and plant modifications coordinating with designers.
• Specializes in routine engineering analysis to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Familiar with national codes and standards relevant to CS&A engineering.
• Ensures design criteria, specifications, and safety licensing basis are used in media preparation.
• Works in multi-discipline teams ensuring cross-disciplinary design integration.
• Provides guidance to more junior colleagues.
• Performs checking and reviews to ensure design media accuracy per company policies.
• Works to assigned schedules ensuring timely work and corrective actions for delays.
• Recommends new equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance and design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with mechanical, nuclear, operations and electrical teams for integrated structural layouts.
• Applies regulatory guidance and industry standards to ensure compliance.
• Performs advanced calculations including foundation and frame analyses and FEAs.
• Creates civil layouts, foundation details, steelwork details and architectural features.
• Coordinates with designers on design documents and plant modifications.
• Manages engineering analysis activities to identify and resolve equipment and system issues.
• Aware of applicable codes and standards for CS&A engineering.
• Ensures design media and licensing basis reflect project requirements and safety criteria.
• Works within multi-discipline teams to ensure design integration across disciplines.
• Mentors junior engineers and provides technical guidance.
• Reviews design media for accuracy and adherence to procedures.
• Maintains schedules and initiates corrective actions to prevent delays.
• Recommends new equipment and techniques to improve performance.
