Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Onshore Structures Engineering Department, supporting projects in chemical, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. The role may work from any US office (IL, TX, OH, MA) with remote options from other US locations considered.

Compensation ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education. The position includes leadership responsibilities, mentorship, and client interaction while ensuring design quality

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering or related fields.
Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license; PE in other states a plus.
Experience with structural design, analysis, and project management is essential.
Proficiency in structural calculations using industry-standard software: RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam; and MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute advanced structural engineering tasks, including design, analysis, and verification of structural elements.
Provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate within project teams.
Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and regulatory standards; review documents for accuracy.
Interface with clients and stakeholders; participate in design reviews and site visits.
Support site inspections and construction-phase engineering to verify design intent and address issues.
