Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Onshore Structures Engineering Department. You will lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex projects for chemical, petrochemical, and industrial clients, operating with a high degree of autonomy and mentoring junior staff.

This position may be based in any US office in Illinois, Texas, Ohio, or Massachusetts. Remote options from other US locations may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering or related fields.
• Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license; other state licenses are a plus.
• Experience with structural design, analysis, and project management is essential.
• Proficiency in structural calculations for pressures, loads, and stresses using industry software (RISA, STAAD, SAP2000).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute advanced structural engineering tasks including design, analysis, and verification of structural elements.
• Develop engineering deliverables such as calculation reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior engineers and review their work.
• Coordinate structural tasks within multidisciplinary teams under senior supervision.
• Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing and growth.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and client requirements.
