Job summary

Rimkus is seeking a Senior Consultant - Structural Engineer to join our Florida-based Built Environment Solutions team. You will evaluate existing structures and lead investigations for residential, commercial, and multi-family projects, including repairs from damage and adaptive reuse.

Senior Consultants mentor junior staff, lead workstreams, and communicate complex findings. You will ensure code compliance, leverage AutoCAD/BIM, and deliver actionable recommendations to extend asset lifespans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum).
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 1 month).
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and familiarity with BIM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare as-built drawings from existing buildings.
• Evaluate performance and integrity of structural systems.
• Create drawings and specifications using building codes/standards.
• Research building codes (historic and current) and applicable upgrades.
• Field assessments including ladders/scaffolds/rooftops.
• Conduct investigations and condition assessments for repairs.
• Prepare design documents for upgrades/restoration.
• Prepare concise reports and support findings.
