Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in New York City to lead rail and transit structural design. You will mentor junior engineers, deliver calculations, drawings and reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-profile projects for MTA, Amtrak, LIRR and Metro-North.

You will apply steel, concrete and masonry design with seismic considerations, while coordinating with PMs to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience delivering structural designs for rail, transit, transportation or industrial facilities.
• New York PE license required (SE or additional licensure is a plus).
• Familiarity with AREMA, AASHTO, IBC and NYC-specific requirements.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, ETABS, RAM; BIM/CAD with Revit, MicroStation, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level structural design and technical input for rail and transit facilities.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Lead structural tasks and components independently with PMs.
• Perform structural analysis and design using steel, reinforced concrete and masonry; consider seismic/dynamic loading.
• Support field investigations, condition assessments and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical and systems teams.
