Job summary

TYLin is actively seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Rail + Transit Structural Engineering team in New York City. The role demands a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience, ready to take ownership and lead complex projects for major clients, including the MTA and Amtrak.

Based in NYC, you will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality designs using steel, concrete, and masonry.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally rail/transit
• New York PE license required (SE or additional licensure a plus)
• Proficiency with steel and concrete structural systems and codes (AREMA, AASHTO, IBC, NYC)
• Experience with BIM/CAD environments (Revit, MicroStation, AutoCAD)

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level structural design and technical input for major rail and transit facilities.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Lead structural tasks and project components with Project Managers.
• Perform structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry with seismic considerations.
• Support field investigations and feasibility studies for transit infrastructure.
