Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Rail + Transit Structural Engineering team in New York City. Based in our NY office, you will deliver structural designs for complex transit programs and mentor developing engineers, taking on greater project ownership.

You will work with PMs and multidisciplinary teams to serve clients like MTA, Amtrak, LIRR, and Metro-North, contributing to resilient urban mobility and transformative infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience delivering designs for major transit agencies (MTA C&D, Amtrak, LIRR, Metro-North).
• Strong command of steel and concrete systems; familiarity with AREMA, AASHTO, IBC; NYC requirements.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, ETABS, RAM; BIM/CAD with Revit, MicroStation, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level design input for rail + transit facilities.
• Review calculations, drawings, specs to TYLin standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Lead structural tasks and coordinate with PMs.
• Perform analysis using steel, concrete, masonry.
• Support field investigations and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical teams.
• Participate in client meetings to align with needs.
