ICON in Austin, Texas is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to own and advance structural engineering as a core product development discipline. You will translate deep structural expertise into requirements, rulesets, and technical guidance to enable ICON’s printed structures at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 12+ years of structural engineering experience; 8+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Demonstrated experience working across multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
• Strong command of ACI, ASCE, and TMS design codes and their application across building types and jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to translate complex structural engineering concepts into clear documentation, technical guidance, and product requirements.
• Track record of managing multiple workstreams and driving technical initiatives to completion without close supervision.
• Proficiency with industry-standard structural engineering tools, including finite element analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000), MathCAD, Excel-based workflows, and Revit for documentation.

Responsabilités

• Serve as ICON's primary structural engineering SME for Building Products and Systems.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve structural engineering requirements and design standards.
• Act as a structural technical resource for complex questions from cross-functional teams and partners.
• Ensure alignment with applicable building codes and testing for code compliance.
• Serve as primary escalation point for structural questions beyond the scope of support teams.
• Interface with Building Regulatory Affairs on code pathways.
• Own translation of engineering expertise into scalable rulesets and workflows.
• Define requirements for BuildOS products and review their implementation in software workflows.
• Identify gaps and drive cross-functional resolution.
• Maintain a structured workplan using Jira and related tools; surface risks to leadership.
• Maintain intake from customer support and translate field patterns into product requirements.
• Review and support development of technical content and guidance for customers.
• Provide deep structural tech support to consultant teams working with ICON divisions.
• Collaborate with ICON divisions to feed back field learnings into product development.
