Job summary

ICON is seeking a Director of Structural Engineering to lead the structural delivery of ICON's design-build projects from design through construction in Austin, TX. You will serve as Engineer of Record and guide a team of engineers across complex concrete and mixed systems, using advanced computational design tools.

You will own standards, budget, hiring, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with architecture, MEP, and field teams, ensuring code compliance and performance while driving

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and PE licensure.
• Experience with concrete and mixed structural systems.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and building envelopes; knowledge of codes.

Responsibilities

• Own ICON's structural engineering function, standards, tools, and delivery quality across projects.
• Build, lead, and develop the structural engineering team including hiring and career growth.
• Set design standards, review processes, and ensure adoption across teams.
• Own budget and resources; forecast capacity and resolve bottlenecks.
• Represent structures in portfolio decisions and 전략 policy development.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and coordinate across design-build teams from design to construction.
• Lead structural calculations and documentation for complete building systems.
• Evaluate building systems for code compliance and performance criteria.
• Provide guidance on foundation design across varied site conditions.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP, and other disciplines to keep projects moving.
• Review drawings and submittals for conformance to ICON standards.
