Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead and oversee complex data center projects in the San Francisco area. You will guide a multidisciplinary team, ensure code compliance, and act as Engineer of Record for key initiatives.

Ideal candidates hold a US PE license, have 10+ years of structural design experience, and are proficient with AutoCAD/REVIT, and RISA/ETABS. Strong communication with clients and teams is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Requires PE licensure in the United States and strong structural engineering background.
Experience with data centers or complex capital projects preferred.
Proficient in building codes (IBC, ACI, AISC) and seismic/wind design.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned engineering programs and initiatives.
Provide guidance and oversight to structural engineers and project teams.
Mentor and coach team members throughout the project lifecycle.
Act as Engineer of Record, managing budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
Coordinate with clients, staff, and subcontractors across life-cycle stages.
Conduct structural investigations, develop calculations, and prepare documents.
Review others’ work for accuracy against budgets and schedules.
Perform Construction Administration, including RFI responses and submittal reviews.
Travel for client meetings, site visits, and project collaborations.
