Job summary

Fleet Data Centers is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of efficient, scalable data center structures across multiple regions. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure best-in-class systems that support massive cloud operations.

The role requires technical expertise in structural engineering with experience in architecture and civil disciplines, plus a strong focus on sustainability and compliance with codes and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (master’s/Ph.D. preferred).
• 10+ years in Structural Engineering with 8+ years in data center design/operations.
• Experience delivering large-scale data center projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, etc.
• Sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost-saving in data centers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Analytical skills with KPI reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create building and site structural drawings.
• Lead design and development of structural design for large-scale data centers.
• Provide design oversight throughout project lifecycle.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and cost/quality metrics.
• Coordinate with architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical, and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
