Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Structural Engineer with strong experience in hyperscale and colocation data center facilities to join our Data Center practice. The role emphasizes large-scale concrete and steel design, with opportunities for remote work from locations across the US.

Ideal candidates will have PE/SE licensure, 8+ years in data centers or industrial facilities, and proficiency with BIM ACC, ETABS, SAP2000, and related tools. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in building structures design and analysis.
• Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).
• Experience with data center, mission critical, or large scale logistics/industrial facilities.
• Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation type facilities.
• Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations.
• Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards.
• Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality, code compliance, and technical excellence.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to address technical queries and design clarifications.
• Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits.
• Travel, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.
