Job summary

EDG is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to design steel and concrete structures and pipelines for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. You will oversee analysis through construction, coordinating with designers and drafters, and may serve as Lead Structural Engineer on multi-discipline projects.

The role requires a BS in Structural/Civil Engineering, 10 years’ offshore design experience, and proficiency with SACS, STAAD, and MathCAD, MS Excel/Word, with travel possible.

Qualifications

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• P.E. designation strongly preferred.
• Requires ten (10) years' experience in design of offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Knowledge and experience utilizing structural design codes including AISC, ACI and ASCE design guidelines.
• Ability to utilize applicable engineering software such as SACS and STAAD.
• Strong knowledge and skill with MathCAD, MS Excel and MS Word.
• Ability to complete discipline related duties independently.
• Ability to complete tasks that are client/project specific with high level direction.
• Familiarity with total project systems which would include mechanical, structural, civil and electrical components to allow consideration of those aspects in design.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff (support, interdisciplinary project teams, management, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• May require the ability to work overtime or travel to offsite work locations.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and detailed structural analysis and design for onshore/offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Perform structural analysis using SACS; include loadout, installation, fatigue and non-linear analyses.
• Adhere to AISC, ASCE, API, AWS, ISO standards and project codes.
• Lead multiple projects or portions of larger projects.
• Prepare project calculations and documentation with Mathcad, Word, and Excel.
• Interface with project managers, engineers, drafters and support staff.
• Develop and share design techniques; perform necessary field work for data collection.
