Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support design of nuclear facilities, including SMRs and advanced reactors. You will collaborate with a team of engineers, review calculations, and guide less experienced staff.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week, opportunities for mentoring, and access to training programs and state-of-the-art tools.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications and reports, and support designers with drawing development.
• Mentor others in the development of engineering deliverables.
• Perform the structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using state-of-the-art tools.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification.
