Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural EIT to join our Integrated Design team in the Phoenix area. The role focuses on structural design and analysis for heavy industrial and mining infrastructure, under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, 0–4 years of experience, familiarity with STAAD Pro or REVIT/AutoCAD, and are willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • 0–4 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry.
  • Engineer-in-training or ability to register.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply Stantec Safety Culture and Health & Safety rules.
  • Perform structural design and analysis for concrete and steel structures.
  • Collaborate with Professional Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs.
  • Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute per project plan.
  • Travel to project sites to complete site inspections with a Senior Structural Engineer.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural EIT to join our Integrated Design team.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world. This role will provide an opportunity to be a part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth in the Energy and Resources industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Cultureandin compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantecanditsclients.
  • Perform structural design andanalysestoapplicable codes.Typical structures includeheavy industrialand mininginfrastructure,andindustrialbuildings.
  • Work with Professional Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client’s needs and requests.
  • Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects perthe projectplan.
  • Travel to project sitestocomplete site inspections, working closely with a Sr Structural Engineer.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to advance yourtechnical skills and career growth.
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Astheidealcandidate, you have:

  • Strong communicationskills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities andteam centeredfocus.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles applicable to concrete and steelanalysis and design.
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in Heavy Industrial or theConstructionIndustryis an asset.
  • Knowledge of STAAD Pro and/orRISA-3Dis an asset.
  • Proficiencyin Revitor AutoCADis an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and other Stantec officesis an asset.
  • Registered as an engineer-in-training or ability to register.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Civil Engineeringwith a focus on structuralengineering.
  • 0to 4 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry.
  • Master’sdegreewithfocuson structuralengineeringis an asset.

About the Team

Pay Transparency:In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
