Job summary

Forsgren, an Apex Company, based in Logan, UT, seeks a Structural Engineer to lead project lifecycles from design through construction documentation. You will mentor junior staff and coordinate with the project manager while ensuring high-quality deliverables for diverse clients.

The role emphasizes strong communication, hands-on field observations, and active participation in business development and proposals. A PE license in Utah and 5+ years of experience are desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Utah or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis/modeling (Risa 3D, Dlubal RFEM 6 or similar) preferred.
• Must be detail- and quality-oriented.
• Ability to manage client relationships.
• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changes.
• Ability to mentor EITs and take direction from seniors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in a technical format.
• Team player with collaboration across office and clients.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical role through project lifecycle, including design documents, calculations, plans, and specs.
• Direct junior engineering and design staff; provide updates to project manager.
• Demonstrate project management by developing and updating project schedules.
• Perform occasional field work for construction inspection.
• Assist with proposals to provide engineering services.
