Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company seeks a Senior Structural Engineer with 10–20 years of experience for our Columbus and/or Cincinnati, OH offices. You will lead design of new building structures, perform structural analysis, coordinate with architecture and disciplines, and manage projects from conception through construction.

Ideal candidates hold a PE or SE license (preferred), have experience with post-tension design, and are proficient in REVIT, RISA 3D, RISA Floor and ADAPT.

Qualifications

• 10–20 years of structural design experience in consulting engineering.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• SE license preferred.
• Proficiency with REVIT, RISA 3D, RISA Floor and ADAPT.
• Experience designing post-tension structures.
• Proficient knowledge of local and national building codes and construction practices.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s in Structural or Civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
• Preparation of structural integrity and assessment reports.
• Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
• Manage and coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
• Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
• Coordinate with architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
• Perform site reviews and construction administration during construction.
• Review designs as part of Osborn’s QA/QC process.
• Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as needed.
• Work planning and manage the design process to available hours in the work plan.
• Project and client management; prepare proposals and administer contracts.
