Job summary

Prime AE Group is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Columbus, OH (and other Ohio locations). You will lead the analysis, design, and delivery of structural systems for a diverse portfolio across sectors, collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients from planning through construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
8+ years in structural engineering within a consulting environment.
Experience with steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
Proficient in Revit, RISA, Enercalc, RAM or similar.

Responsibilities

Lead structural analysis and design efforts for new construction, renovations, additions, and facility assessments.
Design, analyze, and specify structural systems including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and other structural materials.
Prepare and oversee engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and other project disciplines.
Perform structural evaluations, condition assessments, and investigations of existing structures.
Provide construction administration services, including review of submittals, responses to RFIs, and resolution of field-related issues.
Serve as a technical lead on projects, providing guidance and support to project teams throughout the design and construction process.
Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination activities.
Review designs, calculations, and project documents prepared by others as part of PRIME AE's quality assurance and quality control process.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff, fostering technical growth and professional development.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Participate in site visits, field investigations, and occasional project-related travel as required.
