Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design packages and mentor junior engineers from our Warwick/Bristol offices. You will deliver high‑quality structural designs for complex projects, applying Eurocodes, British Standards, and National Annexes, with hands‑on modelling and detailed analysis using Tekla, STAAD or Robot.

You’ll work within multidisciplinary teams and promote buildability and sustainability.

Qualifications

Chartered Structural Engineer with strong focus on structural design for complex projects.
Experience delivering design for buildings or infrastructure.
Expertise in steel, concrete, timber and masonry design.
Structural assessments and refurbishment knowledge.
Seismic or dynamic analysis experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Tekla, STAAD, Robot or Tedds and BIM workflows.
Experience in multidisciplinary project teams and Navisworks.
Understanding CDM duties and structural safety.
CSCS card, eligibility for security clearance, and valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design packages for small to medium projects or own key elements on major schemes.
Produce and review calculations, models, drawings, and specifications.
Apply UK codes and standards to designs and analyses.
Perform structural analysis with industry tools and assess buildability.
Contribute to programmes and report progress to senior engineers.
Support tenders, scope development and technical proposals.
Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
