Job summary

BKV Group in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Arlington area team. You will lead structural design for multi‑family, commercial, and civic projects, sign and seal engineering packages, manage budgets, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a PE license, ABET‑accredited engineering degree, and 10–15 years of experience with high‑rise concrete/steel, deep foundations, and seismic design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• Active PE license required.
• 10–15 years of structural design on complex projects.
• Advanced knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7 and concrete/steel/wood/masonry design.
• Proficiency in the listed design suites and MS Office.
• Strong written and spoken communication for clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design, analysis, and documentation for projects.
• Sign and seal drawings, calculations, and specs as licensed engineer.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables across projects.
• Coordinate with architecture, MEP, landscape, and construction teams.
• Provide coaching and direction to junior engineers and EITs.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and post‑project lessons learned.
• Collaborate on staff scheduling, interviews, and onboarding.
