SK&A is seeking a personable, team-focused structural engineer to join our fast-paced design team in the DC area. You will collaborate with project engineers, PMs, Principals, and external consultants to deliver sound, cost‑effective structural solutions across a range of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering; MS preferred.
• 0–5 years in structural engineering consulting and design for mid to large projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to build client rapport.

Responsibilities

• Assist PMs and Principals with design of structural systems for commercial, institutional, and multi-family buildings.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, and analysis of new structures.
• Develop structural plans, details, and sections for construction drawings in Revit, RamConcept, AutoCAD.
• Prepare project specifications.
• Perform construction-related services: shop drawing reviews, RFIs, site observations, and occasional inspections.
• Interact with outside architectural teams to resolve design and construction issues.
