Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking an accomplished Structural Engineer to lead projects from proposal to construction administration in the Boston area.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership in structural engineering, PE/SE licensure, and a track record in client relationship management. You will guide design teams, mentor staff, and represent the firm at industry events to strengthen regional capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading structural engineering projects or teams across diverse sectors.
• Master's Degree required.
• Licensed as PE and/or SE.
• Ability to coordinate with internal/external stakeholders including senior management and clients.
• Proactive, confident leadership with a track record of delivering projects.

Responsibilities

• Set a strong example of client care and consultancy for the regional team.
• Represent Buro Happold at design team meetings with leadership and client relationship duties.
• Conduct site observations and participate in site meetings, fielding contractor queries.
• Lead the analysis and design of structural systems for various building types per codes.
• Manage and mentor engineering and drafting staff; oversee contract documents and specs.
• Participate in project technical/quality reviews.
• Enhance Buro Happold's reputation as a leading structural engineering practice in the region.
• Represent externally by engaging with local industry groups and events.
