Atoms is building the machines powering the next era of progress. We seek a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design across industrial facilities, perform permit-ready calculations, and work with architecture, civil, and construction teams to ensure scalable, cost-effective solutions.

Based in San Francisco, you will evaluate vendor submittals, perform site assessments, and help standardize templates for rapid deployment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of structural engineering experience in low-rise, light industrial, or site/civil-adjacent structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain additional state licensure/reciprocity as needed.
• Experience designing foundations and support structures for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure facilities.
• Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC design standards, with exposure to local/state amendments.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis across physical infrastructure ventures (kitchen, industrial facilities, EV/AV charging, and related infra).
• Prepare permit-ready calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals across jurisdictions.
• Perform geotechnical review and coordination with soils engineers and site teams.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Civil, Construction, and Facility Tech teams to resolve conflicts and keep designs constructible and cost-effective.
• Conduct site assessments and condition evaluations for retrofit and rapid buildout projects.
• Evaluate vendor/submittals for code compliance and site suitability (prefab structures, enclosures, modular systems).
• Create and refine standardized structural details and templates for rapid deployment across markets.
