Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead civil and structural design for power generation facilities in the U.S., including foundations, site development, and control buildings. You will ensure compliance with codes and internal standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in structural engineering, a PE license, and strong proficiency with RISA/STAAD/SAP2000, as well as familiarity with SmartPlant 3D,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on power generation (preferably thermal).
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, OSHA).
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools (RISA, STAAD, SAP2000).
• Experience with dynamic analysis and seismic response preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute civil and structural design for power generation facilities, including foundations and structures.
• Deliver designs in compliance with codes, standards, and AtkinsRéalis policies.
• Coordinate design activities to support project schedules and delivery.
• Support site visits, project estimating, and project meetings.
• Produce accurate, high‑quality designs aligned with industry standards.
• Review internal and external designs for code compliance and constructability.
• Prepare project specifications for materials procurement and installation.
• Maintain design and construction documentation, including as‑builts and closeout packages.
