Job summary

Industrial Design LLC (Arizona) is seeking a licensed Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural scope of semiconductor projects and coordinate with in-house teams from concept through construction. The role requires PE licensure, a civil/structural background, and strong proficiency in RISA, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam for coordination and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 5+ years of structural design experience, semiconductor/industrial preferred
• Proficiency in structural analysis and modeling with RISA and coordination tools

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural engineering scope of projects, ensuring code compliance and technical accuracy
• Develop structural designs and construction documents for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
• Perform detailed load calculations, structural analysis, and design of building components
• Review and stamp engineering drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with in-house architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams
• Participate in job site walks to assess conditions and support construction progress
• Attend design reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to align structural design with other systems
• Assist in construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC standards

Position Overview: We are seeking a licensed and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. This role will focus primarily on semiconductor projects, with opportunities to work in related industries such as manufacturing, cleanroom, industrial, and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle—from conceptual design through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the structural engineering scope of projects, ensuring code compliance and technical accuracy
• Develop structural designs and produce construction documents for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
• Perform detailed load calculations, structural analysis, and design of building components
• Review and stamp engineering drawings and specifications
• Redline and review work completed by junior engineers, designers, and drafters
• Coordinate closely with in-house architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure cohesive design solutions
• Participate in job site walks to assess existing conditions, confirm field dimensions, and support construction progress
• Attend and contribute design reviews, presenting structural concepts and resolving design challenges
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings to align structural design with other engineering and architectural systems
• Participate in construction administration (e.g. RFI’s and Submittals)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current codes, standards, and industry best practices (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 5+ years of experience in structural design, with a preference for semiconductor or industrial project experience
• Proficiency in structural analysis and modeling software such as: RISA
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for coordination and clash detection
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for markups and document review
• Strong technical writing and communication skills

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environment design
• Knowledge of vibration-sensitive structural systems and foundations
• Experience with seismic design considerations and detailing
• Familiarity with fabrication and construction means & methods
• Proficiency in Revit for BIM coordination (strongly preferred)
• LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable design practices (a plus)
