Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to advance carbon-free nuclear energy projects. Collaborate with engineers across disciplines, mentor team members, and contribute to design calculations and reports for a variety of clients.

You will work in a hybrid schedule in Hamilton, NJ, interfacing with multiple disciplines and utilizing leading software to ensure safe, reliable nuclear power generation for a greener future.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Five+ years experience on project teams in design/analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
• Familiarity with design codes such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Work on a wide range of projects for various clients.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications and reports, and support designers with drawing development.
• Mentor others in the development of engineering deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using state-of-the-art tools.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs.
