Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Los Angeles office team, with flexibility for other West Coast locations. The role focuses on analyzing and designing structural systems for diverse building projects, ensuring code compliance and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The candidate should have a Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency with ETABS/SAFE/SAP. PE is required; SE preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with strong fundamentals for building systems.
• 6+ years of related experience in structural design and engineering.
• Interest/experience in Data Center Design and/or Transportation market preferred.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design structural elements for steel, concrete, timber and masonry buildings per code.
• Perform lateral analyses for seismic and wind loading.
• Prepare and review drawings and calculations for permit submittals.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, architects and contractors.
• Support site visits, review submittals, and client communications.
• Contribute to a portfolio including high-profile projects.
