Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Structural Engineering team across Houston, Austin, or Dallas offices. The role focuses on designing structures for diverse projects, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience, a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, and proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, and SAP. PE is required, SE preferred; data center or rail exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years of related experience in structural design and engineering.
• Interest and experience in Data Center Design and/or Rail market preferred.
• Licensed PE; SE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design structural elements and systems for buildings (steel, concrete, timber, masonry).
• Perform lateral analyses for seismic and wind loading.
• Prepare and review drawings detailing designed systems.
• Complete design calculations for structural systems for permit submittals.
• Coordinate work with engineers from other disciplines and with architectural teams and contractors.
• Review submittals and observe construction progress at sites.
• Communicate engineering designs to clients and stakeholders.
