Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a mid-to-senior level Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test department. The role focuses on detailed structural analyses across development and production, utilizing FEA software and classical methods. You will define work scope, ensure cost/schedule alignment, and present findings to peers and customers.

The successful candidate will contribute to MA&T department processes, review work, and travel to test sites as needed. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; advanced degree may substitute per policy.
• Experience in structural analysis using PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware against requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads/environments.
• Work with limited oversight on complex problems and meet cost/schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews and act as reviewer for others' work.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions.
