Job summary

AME Design Group in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the full structural scope for design/build projects across Industrial, Self-storage, and more. The candidate will guide designs from concept to project opening, leveraging strong software skills and a proactive, innovative approach.

We value PE/SE licensure and 5–15 years of progressive design experience, with a passion for mentoring teams and delivering cost-effective, high-quality structures.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred; ARCO will support pursuit.
• 5–15 years of design experience with increasing complexity.
• Experience with structural software: ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAM, Enercalc, L-Pile, etc.
• BIM experience required; Revit essential, Tekla Structures a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural designs for design/build projects across multiple types.
• Design and specify structural systems including load calculations and lateral/gravity analysis.
• Lead projects with engineering and modeling staff to deliver complete design packages.
• Support development of automated design methods and tools.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as structural expert.
• Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
